A MAN has been taken into police custody following a lake rescue.
The 22-year-old was arrested in relation to a completely separate incident - on suspicion of taking a car without consent - which happened in Carlisle on Monday.
He was identified after police and Patterdale MRT were called to find a boat on Ullswater with four people on board at 1.45am yesterday (THURs) .
Belfast Coastguard was alerted and called on a team from Maryport to locate the boat.
It followed reports that two adults - reportedly drunk and arguing - were in charge of two children and there were concerns for their welfare.
The vessel was found at Ullswater Sailing Club. Everyone was safe.
No one was arrested in relation to this incident
