An electrical storm that hit Carlisle has left a tree split in two.
The tree, on Cumwhinton Road, was struck by lightning on Wednesday night.
Passers by and people out walking have been stopping to look at the damage that has been caused.
It is not yet known whether a part of the tree will be cut down.
