It was a bit chilly in Cumbria this morning wasn't it?
People across the county woke up to frozen cars and icy roads with sales of de-icer no doubt going through the roof.
We're no strangers to sub-zero temperatures here in Cumbria but last night was one of the chilliest spells of the year and everyone is talking about the weather.
According to the Met Office, Shap was the coldest place in Cumbria overnight with a minimum temperature of -11.2C. For context, Newton Rigg near Penrith recorded -9.9C.
That means last night in Shap it was the lowest recorded overnight temperature for Cumbria this year. The previous low at that location was -7.2C which was on January 27.

Cumbria was just one degree off being the coldest place in the UK last night.
That accolade went to Chillingham Barns, Northumberland, at -12.2C.
