TWO people from Carlisle are among seven criminals who are to be sentenced by a judge for their part in a major drugs plot.
The six men and a woman were involved in a conspiracy which ran for just over two years, Carlisle Crown Court heard. It involved a plan to ship "significant" quantities of class A heroin and crack cocaine into North Cumbria from Merseyside.
In court this week three admitted their respective roles.
They were Christopher Hill, 32, of Toronto Street, Carlisle; Andrew Karl Beard, 39, of Newtown Square, Gretna; and Ryan Doforo, 32, of Chislehurst Avenue, Liverpool.
All admitted conspiring to supply heroin and crack cocaine. The plot was active between December, 2014, and January this year.
Four other people have previously entered guilty pleas to the the same two offences.
They include Kirsty Louise Cartwright, 29, of Millholme Avenue, Currock, Carlisle.
All seven of the defendants - three of who are from Merseyside - will be sentenced at the crown court on July 17.
