WORRIED forecasters fear another violent cyclone, which could potentially be the second storm of the season, Storm Brian, will unleash chaos similar to Ophelia's mighty gusts earlier this week.

Latest weather charts show the storm building steam out at sea before it heads directly to Britain.

Fierce gales are forming across the Atlantic and are on track to crash into the UK over the weekend.

The weather system, which is currently developing, could be named Brian if the storm evolves by the end of the week.

Forecasters fear the system could intensify over the Atlantic, and bring heavy rain and powerful winds with it.

Britons could even wake under an unusual coloured sky for the second time this week with the storm threatening to bring more dust from the Sahara.

Storm Brian, which has yet to be officially named is to hit the UK by Friday.

Many areas, including Cumbria, face potential damaging winds and travel disruption late on Friday and into the early hours of Saturday.

This could be the second UK-named storm of the season after Aileen hit in September and it comes just days after ex-hurricane Ophelia.

Warnings from weather outlets to batten down the hatches for 'Brian' are already circulating on social media.

The Met Office has said that it is too soon to say whether the storm will be named because there is so much uncertainty over its path.

Forecaster, Emma Sharples, said: "No weather warnings have been issued at the moment. This doesn't mean to say that none will be issued.

"As no weather warnings for amber or above have been issued then it has not yet been named a storm.

"There is no doubt there will be some wet and windy weather over the next few days. But there will be some dry patches in between.

"There are lots of uncertainty about the weather for the weekend at the moment.
