Hospital ward to reopen to visitors following norovirus outbreak
A ward at West Cumberland Hospital in Whitehaven is due to reopen this evening.
Visitors were urged to avoid the ward due to an outbreak of norovirus.
Anyone planning to visit either the Whitehaven hospital or Carlisle’s Cumberland Infirmary was asked to stay away if they or their family members had diarrhoea, vomiting or flu-like symptoms.
A spokesman for North Cumbria University Hospitals NHS Trust confirmed the ward was due to reopen this evening.
