Cumbria is set to bask in glorious conditions this Bank Holiday – with a top-class line-up of events on offer.

Various events are planned this weekend, including Manor Fest, Upperby Gala and Ireby Festival.

Temperatures are set to top 20 degrees this weekend, with Sunday and Monday expected to be the best days.

A spokeswoman for the Met Office said: “There is the chance of an isolated heavy shower on Saturday, otherwise a dry day with sunny spells and turning warmer into the rest of the weekend.

“There will be plenty of sunshine by Sunday and Monday with temperatures in the range of 18-22 Celsius.”

The Bank Holiday activities will kick off today with the return of Ireby Festival, which starts today.

Morton Manor Community Centre will again host Manor Fest, with a day full of fun, music and entertainment from 12pm.

Tomorrow will see the return of Silloth Green Day to Silloth Green, in what is one of the town’s most popular events.

The Bank Holiday festivities will conclude on Monday with the Upperby Gala, organised by Carlisle City Council, the event will again take place at Hammond’s Pond.

The managing director of Cumbria Tourism, Gill Haigh said: “The gorgeous weather we’ve been having is sure to make for a busy and vibrant Bank holiday for Cumbria.

“There are events being run across the county that will appeal to visitors alike from craft fairs, to family activities, music and exhibitions.”
