Firefighters from Carlisle had to deal with two chimney fires in the same day.
The call-outs came in yesterday.
The first one was reported at 11.30am with firefighters being told about a chimney fire at a house in Broadwath Holdings, Heads Nook, east of Carlisle.
The fire was confined to the chimney and the smoke to the loft area. Crews used chimney gear to deal with the incident.
Shortly after 9pm last night the crews had to deal with a second chimney fire.
This one happened in Dalegarth Avenue, Harraby.
A fire service spokesperson said: "Two fire engines and an aerial appliance responded and crews used chimney gear, two breathing apparatus, a height safety pack and a thermal imaging camera to bring the fire under control.
"Crews were at the scene for two hours."
