Firefighters ensured a troubled sheep got back to dry land after it got stuck in the River Eden.
Crews from Penrith and Shap were called out to the river in the area of Carleton Avenue, Penrith, at 10.40am on Thursday.
Three, who were waist deep in the water, managed to get hold of the sheep and carry it to the riverbank.
Cumbria County Council tweeted to say the sheep was brought to safety and "trotted off back to its friends, a little confused but safe and well.
"Big thanks and well done to Penrith and Shap crews - making it look easy."
