Fire crews put out "suspicious" 2am car blaze on back road near Brampton
Fire crews were called out at 2am today to a report that people may be trapped in a car that was on fire on a back road near Brampton.
The car was found on the road leading to Kirkhouse, off the A689.
No persons were found and fire in the car - well alight when crews from Carlisle east and Brampton arrived - was extinguished.
A spokesman for Cumbria Fire & Rescue Service said the blaze is being treated as suspicious.
