Magistrates have handed down a 22 month driving ban and a £350 fine to a 51-year-old woman caught driving in Penrith while over the limit.
Carlisle's Rickergate court heard that Denise Crewe, of Clifford Road, Penrith, was caught in the town on September 1.
A breath test confirmed she had 89mcg of alcohol in 100mls of breath - the legal limit is 35mcg.
She pleaded guilty to the offence. In addition to the ban and fine, the defendant must pay a £35 victim surcharge and £85 prosecution costs.
She was offered the drink driver rehabilitation course, which if completed by December 14 next year will cut her ban by 22 weeks.
