The final phase over overnight closures on the A66 will continue until July 21.

Work began earlier this year to resurface and flood-proof the dual carriageway by Bassenthwaite Lake.

Overnight closures from 8pm to 6am will continue until July 21 for the final stretch of resurfacing within the layby as well as road markings and barrier installations.

Outside of those hours, traffic management will still be in place with single lane running under traffic signal control supplemented by a 40mph speed limit.

The eastbound dual carriageway running alongside Bassenthwaite Lake will continue to have a lane two closure in place, as a safety measure to prevent two lanes of high speed traffic approaching the traffic signals.

Traffic travelling between Keswick and West Cumbria will be diverted via the A591. HGVs will be directed via the M6 and A595.
