Tickets for Little Mix's summer show in Carlisle have almost sold out in just one day.

Fans snapped up more than 15,000 tickets for the show yesterday (FRI) after they went on general sale at 9.30am.

Anyone hoping to go to the Little Mix show at Bitts Park on Sunday, July 16, better buy their tickets fast to avoid disappointment, advised organisers.

Les Kidger, director of concert promoter LCC Live, said: "The tickets are going really fast. The response has been absolutely amazing.

"We're really looking forward to a great show."

All the golden circle tickets, which give fans access to the front area of the stage, have already sold out. Fewer than 2,000 general sale tickets were still on sale last night.

Little Mix have a non-stop few months ahead. They are currently touring America and will be stateside until April.

The biggest girl group in the world will then head to Europe and tour around the continent before heading back to the UK in June.

After playing in venues as varied as Eirlas Stadium in Colwyn Bay to Powderham Castle, Exeter, they will make their way to Carlisle to play at Bitts Park the night after Bryan Adams.

Just four days after the Carlisle show, Little Mix will be singing on the other side of the world in Perth Australia.

And the fun doesn't even stop there! They will then return to the UK, touring all over before finishing up at London's O2 arena.

The weekend, July 15 and 16, is anticipated to bring a massive boost to Carlisle's economy, with full hotels and buzzing restaurants and bars.

Promoters LCC Live have been working with Carlisle City Council to bring Adams and Little Mix to Carlisle.

They also brought Sir Tom to the city and Mr Kidger believes the two gigs will be massive.

The city's councillors hopes that concerts will build on the city's status as capable of holding huge concerts, as well as boosting its widening events calendar.

The Bryan Adams-Little Mix combination is one of the highlights of a superb summer of music for Carlisle and Cumbria.

Another former X Factor star, Olly Murs, will follow UB40 into Carlisle United's Brunton Park for another two-night special in June, while chart-topper Jess Glynne will perform at Carlisle Racecourse just seven days before Adams takes to the stage at the other side of the city.

Kendal Calling, near Penrith, has also sold out.
