THE straw was out and the bunting was up as festival-goers enjoyed another jam-packed weekend of music, a mixed bag of weather and lots of high spirits.

Music on the Marr returned to Castle Carrock with a spectacular four-day line-up this weekend.

Punters were treated to the likes of Celtic fusion band Wolfstone, the newly-reformed Hadrian's Union, Scottish three-piece Talisk and Kanda Bongo Man from Congo.

Organisers say about 1,000 people attended the festival which ran from Thursday to Sunday.

Richard Johnstone told the News & Star: "It has been great. We have had some appalling rain and fabulous music.

"The crowd were at their best in spite of the weather.

"I said at the start we would only do one and here we are."

The festival, which is now in it's eight year, also offered up a number of workshops and special events including circus skills, a fireshow and children's poetry event.

This year was the first year the Duke of Cumberland's new land lady Julie Harrison had worked on the festival.

The food range also expanded this year to include Mel's diner and a pop-up Mr Brown's cafe along with the established Magnificent Tea Emporium.
