The family of the pedestrian who died after being struck by a motorbike on a busy Cumbrian road have paid tribute to the 92-year-old.

Cumbria Police identified her as 92-year-old Eva Rigg, from Aglionby.

In a short statement, her family said: "Eva lived a long and happy life and will be sadly missed by all."

Mrs Rigg was injured during the collision on the A69 at Aglionby at about 5pm on Wednesday.

The motorcylist, a 65-year-old man from Carlisle, was taken to the city's Cumberland Infirmary with minor injuries.

The road was closed until late into the night while police carried out specialist accident investigation work.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or saw Mrs Rigg or the Honda CBF 1000 motorbike in the moments before the crash are asked to call 101 and speak to PC 1410 Benzie or Sergeant 1929 Bainbridge of the Mobile Support Group.
