EMERGENCY services dealt with a two-vehicle crash on one of Cumbria's busiest roads.

Police and ambulance were called to the collision on the A689 near Brampton at about 10am today.

A Citroen and a Hyundai had collided at the road's junction with Carlisle Road.

The extent of injuries are unknown but are not believed to be life-threatening.

Motorists were asked to avoid the area while the vehicles were recovered. Police expected the road to be clear by midday.
