Emergency services were called to a crash on the M6.
The collision, which happened yesterday on the northbound carriageway between junction 41 and 42, involved a motorhome and two other vehicles.
Police, fire and ambulance were called to the scene at about 3.45pm.
It is unknown exactly how many people were injured or the extent of their injuries.
Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service said: "The motorhome had tipped on its side and was blocking two lanes of the carriageway.
"Additionally, the motorhome had gas inside it which needed to be made safe.
"Crews made the scene safe, isolated both the gas cylinder and the battery on the vehicle, and passed the casualty to the care of paramedics at the scene."
The fire service was in attendance for about an-hour-and-a-half.
