Train passengers are advised there are serious delays after damage was caused to electric wires.
Virgin Trains and TransPennine Express may be delayed by up to 80 minutes or cancelled.
Damage to the overhead electric wires between Lancaster and Preston is causing major disruption to trains between the two stations. A tree is believed to have fallen on the wires.

Buses will run from Carlisle and between Lancaster and Preston / Manchester.
The disruption started just after 7pm and is expected to continue until the end of the day.
The following services are affected:
*TransPennine Express between Glasgow Central / Edinburgh and Manchester Airport
*Virgin Trains between Glasgow Central / Edinburgh and Birmingham New Street / London Euston.
TransPennine Express customers can use Northern services between Preston and Manchester.
