A day of family-friendly entertainment will culminate in a free outdoors theatre performance.

The Oddsocks Theatre Company will be bringing Macbeth to life in the iconic outdoor location of Workington Hall on Friday, September 1.

Workington Town Council, which organised the event, will also offer tours of the hall, archery sessions and medieval performances.

Tours will take place from 2pm to 6.30pm and will last 30 minutes. A storyteller will guide people round the grounds and in the courtyard of the hall.

Archery sessions will be held from 2pm to 5pm and cost £1.

The Fairly Famous Family will offer medieval performances including fire eating from 5pm.

The show starts at 7pm and is free to attend.

Food and drink stalls will be available, however people can to bring their own food and drinks, including alcohol, seats, blankets, umbrellas, torches.

Gazebos are allowed but people are asked to be considerate of other spectators. Barbecues are not allowed.

Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead.
