Controlled explosion of chemical at St Bees School
A controlled explosion has taken place at St Bees School.
Experts were drafted in for the explosion of a chemical which was stored on the premises.
A statement from the school said: "As we cannot be 100 per cent certain that the chemical concerned has been stored correctly at the school, we have initiated the appropriate course of action.
"A controlled explosion will take place on the school playing field, down school lane."
