A large concrete block was used to smash the driver's window of a red Audi RS4 car.

Raiders then stole a number of items from inside.

The car was broken into in Penrith town centre between 2pm on Sunday and 4.45am yesterday.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the smash-and-grab or anyone who saw anything suspicious in the Castlegate, Castle Foundry, Warwick Place or West Lane areas.

Details can be passed to PC Staley by calling 101.
