India Willoughby feels she "did not do herself justice" in the Celebrity Big Brother house.

Cumbrian broadcaster India has also been reunited with her mother Sandra - who echoed her view - after being the first to be evicted tonight.

The pair embraced after the show's presenter Emma Willis met India as she left the house, accompanying her on to the set of tonight's live Channel 5 show.

Sandra was heard saying "well done" to India as they hugged.

During her post-eviction interview, India - a self-confessed Big Brother superfan - said: "I didn't feel I did myself justice to be honest and that is my one regret."

She added: "Did I give my best show? No."
She also admitted "loving" her 10 days in the house, living with 15 other people.

Emma Willis also probed more about India's view on her time in the house, which has focused heavily on her transgender story.

India, the country's first transgender newsreader, said: "I should've just waited for the questions to come and answer them one by one rather than burying people under a load of statements and viewed. Even I got bored of it."

She also said that people's "confused" opinions about transgender issues continue to "irritate" her.

India also revealed how she was "psyched up" to shake up the house but discovered it remains "Bambi-esque" and harmonious among the housemates.

When asked what she has learned of herself during her time in the show, India said: "Maybe not to be as scared of things that I have been and maybe not to judge people as quickly as I have."

In the first of tonight's two shows, viewers saw India predict that she would be the first to leave - confessing she "got it wrong" with her "early outbursts".

India faced eviction along with Love Island star Jonny Mitchell after being nominated by their fellow housemates earlier this week.

Since Tuesday, the public were voting for which of the pair they wanted to save.

It was revealed just after 10.30pm that India received the fewest votes, becoming the first to be evicted.

In the diary room of the house, India, 52, told Big Brother: "My psychic vibe is that I'm climbing those stairs and will be waving goodbye to my housemates."

She added: "I think those early outbursts have cost me.

"It is all becoming embarrassing. I'm not an embarrassment on the outside."

India insists she wants to stay.

"I would really, really like to say. I love Big Brother. It has always been my dream to be on the show," she said.

"No-one wants to be the first to go. I certainly don't want that."

India has been at the centre of several rows during her time in the house so far, including some with actress Amanda Barrie.

India said: "I'm certainly trying to get on with people.

"I've even made up with Amanda today, who has irritated me beyond belief, but life is too short."

Regretting some of her actions in the house, India confessed: "I'm not kidding myself, I got it wrong and I know that."

Bookmakers had India as odds on favourite to be evicted.

India is Britain's first transgender newsreader.

Born Jonathan, she fully transitioned two years ago following gender reassignment surgery.

Since going public India has continued her work with ITV's local news programmes in the region and appeared on a series of high profile shows.
