There'll be a spring in the step of families tonight as a huge new trampoline park in Carlisle opens its doors for the first time.

A 25,000 sq ft unit in the city's Willowholme industrial estate has been

revamped into the new attraction.

The family-run team behind the the state-of-the-art Energi Trampoline Park, in Millrace Road, already run a similar set-up in Preston and other places.

Attractions will include a 12-metre climbing wall, basketball hoops and a toddler soft "ninja warrior" type assault course area.

The attraction will boast a cafe for about 120 people.

"This will be the best one we've done," said manager Cameron Warnock.

"We can't wait to open, it's been such a slog.

"It has been delayed a couple of times but now we are ready to open.

"Our staff have been travelling down to Preston for training."

The new centre will opened with a performance from Britain's Got Talent winner George Sampson and the Street Monkeys.

Their performances will be followed by the first session of the Energi Beat nights for 11 to 17-year-olds, which include a live DJ and disco-style lighting.

Once open the park will run a series of different sessions including times for toddlers and Energi Beat.

In total around 65 to 70 jobs have been created by the venture.

The centre will open at 4pm and people are advised to pre-book and arrive 30 minutes before their session starts.
