A man who sexually assaulted a woman last year has been told his name will now go on the Sex Offenders' Register.
Brian Michael Earl, 37, from Beverley Rise, Harraby, Carlisle, admitted the offence during a brief appearance at Carlisle Crown court.
The court heard that he assaulted the woman on September 4 last year.
His defence barrister Kim Whittlestone handed in various character references for the defendant.
Earl, who spoke only to confirm his name and enter his plea, was told that he will be sentenced on February 10 after background reports about him have been prepared by the Probation Service.
He was granted bail on condition that he does not contact his victim and nor can he go into the street where she lives.
