Two brothers have appeared in court to face allegations of beating a man following party in a Carlisle social club.
Martin Anthony Woodhead, 32, of Chatsworth Square, and David Anthony Woodhead, 31, of Parkside, were charged with causing grievous bodily harm after the incident at the Conservative Club in Spencer Street on Saturday.
District Judge Gerald Chalk, sitting in the magistrates' court in Carlisle, heard that the pair also faced a further charge of attempting to cause GBH to a different man on the same day.
Both men appeared side by side in the dock and but no pleas were entered.
A family member, Samantha Lindsey Woodhead, 29, of Parkside, Carlisle, also appeared in court to face the same two charges but an additional one of assault.
They were all remanded in custody and will appear at Carlisle Crown Court on September 11.
