A motorcyclist was seriously injured after a crash on a major Carlisle road.
The accident happened at about 2pm on Dalston Road.
Police have confirmed that it involved a car and a motorbike, and police are continuing to work at the scene. Officers say the road will not be open until at least 4.20pm.
The rider of the motorbike has been airlifted to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle.
Exact details of the man's current medical condition are unknown.
A woman from Wigton, who was driving the Ford Fiesta car that was involved, is not believed to be injured.
Motorists are being urged to avoid the area and to use Wigton Road instead.
