Police in Annan are investigating reports that an airgun was stolen from a vehicle in the town.

The car, a Subaru Forrester, was parked in the Aldi car park in Butts Street some time on the afternoon of either Wednesday, September 20 or Thursday, September 21.

The airgun is black in colour.

Constable Andrew Broomfield, based in Annan, said: "We are appealing to the public for their help in getting this weapon back again.

"Anyone who may have been in the Aldi car park on the afternoon of last Wednesday or Thursday is asked to think back if they saw or heard anything which might help us catch those responsible.

"We are also carrying our door to door enquiries and CCTV footage is also being reviewed.

"Anyone who can help in this investigation is asked to call us at Annan on the 101 number.

"Should anyone have information which they would want to pass on to us anonymously, then they can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
