COMMERCIAL manager Mike Robinson took time off from his regular job earlier this month when he joined other judges at this year's Young Enterprise High Wycombe Annual Trade Fair and awards evening.

Mike, who works at the High Street, High Wycombe branch of HSBC, attended the fair at Buckinghamshire Chilterns University College on March 9 to judge a winner of the Corporate Image Prize sponsored by the bank.

He is also a member of the High Wycombe Young Enterprise Area Board as well as taking on the task of marking the business plan competition, won this year by Spectrum of Great Marlow School, with Consummate Computer Services at the Royal Grammar School as runner-up.

"I am amazed at the talent our there. It gives me great pleasure to be involved," said Mike "I think when I was starting out at school we had nothing for young entrepreneurs.

"It is fantastic that they have the opportunity to try out their ideas in a real-life situation."

Budding entrepreneurs from Young Enterprise companies at around 18 schools in the Wycombe district took part in the event, which was the culmination of seven months work by the student entrepreneurs, their link teachers and advisers.

Other prizes presented on the evening include a manufacturing prize presented by Instron, a recycling prize from the Marlow Society and The Rotary Club of Marlow prize.

HSBC is a long-term supporter of Young Enterprise, a national charity that helps young people experience the practical aspects of running a small business.
