A man has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries following a crash.
Emergency services were called to Curwen Road, Workington, shortly before 2pm today, with officers closing the road for 100m in both directions.
The crash involved a Ford Fiesta, which officers say has left the road.
The patient was airlifted to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle, after he was cut from his car by the fire service.
Firefighters from Workington and Maryport attended the scene and spent about an hour and a half on site.
A spokesman for the Great North Air Ambulance Service, said: "We flew a male patient to the RVI in Newcastle with serious injuries."
