A MAN needed stitches after a fight outside a Wigton social club.

Officers were called to West Street Social Club just before 11.30pm on Saturday (October 13), to reports of a fight inside and outside the club, which involved weapons.

One of those involved in the fight was in possession of a knife, however police say there is no indication that the knife was used at this time.

Three people were injured in the skirmish, including one man needing stitches on his arm after suffering a slashing injury.

Officers believe this injury was caused by a bottle.

Two men were subsequently arrested by police:

*Thomas Reynolds, 28, of Brookside Place, Carlisle, has been charged with a public order offence.

*Callum Kerr, 23, of no fixed address, was charged with possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, affray and criminal damage.

Enquiries are ongoing and police would urge any witnesses to contact police on 101, quoting incident 269 of October 13.
