Flood warnings - the second highest alert level - remained in place for Carlisle and Keswick this morning.

The Environment Agency issued the warnings yesterday as rain from Storm Callum battered Cumbria.

They were for:

  • Keswick Campsite
  • River Eden at Carlisle, Rickerby Park, Swifts and Stoneyholme Golf Courses
  • River Eden between Newby East and Low Crosby
  • River Greta at Keswick, Keswick Campsite, Rugby Club and Quinta

Only the warning for Keswick Campsite remained as of 2pm.

However, the worst of the problems seem to be over as the EA say the river Eden was due to peak about 3am this morning.

A numbrt of flood alerts - the lowest alert level - also remain in place across the county.

They are for:

  • Lower River Eden
  • Rivers Brathay, Rothay and Winster
  • Rivers Lowther and Eamont
  • Upper River Derwent, Stonethwaite Beck and Derwent Water
