Landlord on firearm charges

POLICE have charged a pub landlord with three firearm offences after seizing a weapon from a house in Carlisle.
Officers raided a property in Richmond Green, Morton, at about 10pm on Tuesday and recovered the unspecified firearm.
Michael John Charlton, 43, licensee of the Golden Lion public house in St Nicholas Street, Carlisle, was charged yesterday with unlawfully possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life, unlawful possession of a prohibited weapon and unlawful possession of a firearm.
He will appear at Carlisle Magistrates’ Court this morning for a custody application.
