Sightings show spirits do exist say Cumbria ghost hunters

Cumbria's own gang of supernatural sleuths have released these spooky pictures, which they say prove the existence of spirits.
The photographs were taken by a member of UK Ghost Hunters, during a midnight vigil at the antiques shop at Brougham Hall, near Penrith.
Medium Chris Conway started the group to investigate the most haunted spots in Cumbria and south-west Scotland.
He hopes that by using technology, he can remove all doubts surrounding the existence of the paranormal. But taking pictures of ghosts, he said, can be more difficult than it sounds.
On this occasion, team members could only take six photos before spiritual activity had drained their camera batteries.
“The energy that spirits use is very similar to electricity,” said Chris, 37, of Annan.
“If they were to move something in a room it would take a lot of energy – that’s why they tend to make lights flicker and interfere with the electrical supply.”
Nonetheless, the vigil at Brougham Hall proved very successful. Six people stayed overnight at the 13th century manor, once known as the ‘Windsor of the North’ for its royal connections.
From 9pm on January 16, Chris channelled spirits including Lord Henry Brougham, a former chancellor of England who died in 1868.
He added: “I asked him to tell me something I didn’t know and couldn’t check up easily. He said that he’d bought a property nearby which had been allowed to fall into ruin, which he was very annoyed about.”
Members of the team were accompanied by local history enthusiast Neil Harrison, manager of the Old Smokehouse at Brougham Hall, who confirmed that the story was true.
Chris said: “There also was a 15-year-old boy called James who’d been working on the house – he had fallen to his death and it was covered up.
“And I picked up a lady who had been taken to the top of a tower and thrown off by soldiers.”
He added that the spirits he channelled were all verified by the Brougham family history books. And if anyone were to accuse him of tampering with photographs, he would be happy to show them his digital camera.
Anyone interested in joining UK Ghost Hunters on their next vigil should visit their website at www.ukghosthunters.synthasite.com or email Chris at ukghosthunters@live.com.
He is also keen to hear from anyone who believes their home or business may be haunted.

Have your say
these are not ghosts. this is actually a technical problem with camera lenses not being able to focus on the dust particls in the air quick enough before the flash of a camera if you had a night vision cctv camera in operation you would see that with the dust in the air that there would be hundreds if not thousands of these so called orbs. as i am also a paranormal investigator i find this very insulting for someone to turn around and say 100% that these are ghosts. i am also a sceptic, but one thing that all researches must do is to research and prove 100% that there is a normal answer to any so called evidence before they can say that anything is 100% paranormal. research research research. this is very amiture indeed
