Flood alerts still in place

THE lowest level of flood alert remains in some parts of Cumbria this morning with Keswick Campsite still on a heightened warning.

As well as the Keswick flood watch, the Environment Agency had 13 flood watches in place at 8am today on the following rivers: the lower Eden, Brathay, Rothay and Winster, Cockermouth, Marron and Derwent, Ehen, Calder, Irt and Esk and the upper Derwent, Stonethwaite Beck and Derwentwater.

The all-clear was given yesterday for other rivers in Cumbria including the remaining stretches of the Eden, Caldew, Petteril, Lowther and Eamont.

Warnings began on Saturday afternoon when the area was hit by heavy rain.

Cumbria Police received many reports of localised flooding on roads such as the A6 near Plumpton, A591 in the Lake District and B5035.

Has the snow and ice spoiled your day?

Yes. The roads and pavements are dangerous and the weather has caused havoc.

No. It isn't that bad and I can't see what all the fuss is about.
