Julian Clary cancels Carlisle show

A one-off gig in Carlisle by camp comedian Julian Clary has been cancelled.
Those who bought tickets for the December 7 show at the Sands Centre have been sent letters stating it had been cancelled. They are entitled to a full refund.
Sands Centre arts and events manager Jonathan Higgins said: “The only thing I can say is that December’s show cannot go ahead because of a contractual issue.”
The cancellation will be a disappointment for bosses at the Sands Centre, who had penned a personal plea for him to appear.
Mr Higgins had written Clary a personal letter urging him to bring a show to Carlisle. It was to be a coup because Julian Clary is not touring at the moment.
They wanted Clary to be the latest in a line of top comedians to appear at the Sands. Alan Carr, Jimmy Carr and Al Murray are among the top names who have appeared at the Sands or are due to appear.
