Growing demand brings herbalist to the city

CUMBRIAN herbalist Lorraine Hodgkinson is launching a new service in Carlisle to meet a growing demand from customers.
Lorraine has been practising herbal medicine for 15 years and has bases in the Natures Health Store, Penrith, and Lifestyle Fitness in Cockermouth.
She has now started accepting appointments in Carlisle.
She is able to meet clients at Spinners Yard, Fisher Street, where osteopath and acupuncturist Fred Carson has a practice.
Lorraine, of Cockermouth, said: “It is a great location. It is a ground floor centre and Fred has just done a lot of work to it. I’m pleased I’m finally able to do something in Carlisle. People used to ask if I was going to open in Carlisle.”
Lorraine has built up a client base with more than 2,000 customers.
They are mainly from Cumbria.
A new service she will be offering from Carlisle is a ‘constitutional analysis’.
It combines traditional diagnostic methods she uses in herbal medicine to identify ways people can change their diets and lifestyles to suit their needs.
