Help Deborah become a top model
Last updated at 09:05, Wednesday, 10 September 2008
A teenage girl is calling on fellow Cumbrians to help get her through to the next round of a national beauty competition.
Seventeen-year-old Deborah Ingram has made it to the final 40 of this month’s heat of Teen Queen.
Deborah, from Long Marton, near Appleby, entered the competition, now in its fourth year, after being approached by scouts at the Clothes Show in Birmingham last December.
“There were over 5,000 girls who took part initially,” sister Sam said.
“She’s been in the top five for votes for a while and we’re really hoping people will support her.”
Each month, photos of 40 girls are posted on the Teen Queen website and winners then go forward to the finals next year.
Deborah, who has never modelled before, has just returned from a professional photo shoot in London for Teen Queen finalists.
The winner of the competition gets introduced to a modelling agency and goes on to represent the UK at Teen Queen World.
Votes for September’s finalists close on September 30. See www.teenqueenuk.com
