Inquest into death of man, 24

AN INQUEST has been opened following a suspected drugs-related death in Carlisle.

Christopher Sam Matthews, 24, was found dead at his flat in Aglionby Street last Saturday.

A police investigation was launched into what the force described as a “drugs-related incident”.

This came after police were called to the flat in the early hours of the morning following reports that the body of a man had been found.

Detectives arrested and questioned two people on suspicion of supplying drugs.

Now the office for North and West Cumbria Coroner John Taylor has confirmed an inquest has been opened and adjourned into the death.

Police said the investigation was still ongoing.

The two arrested people have been bailed pending further inquiries.

Has the snow and ice spoiled your day?

Yes. The roads and pavements are dangerous and the weather has caused havoc.

No. It isn't that bad and I can't see what all the fuss is about.
