THE first summertime fire risk warning for open country in Cumbria has been issued.
Cumbria County Council Countryside Rangers yesterday urged people to take extra care with cigarette ends, dropped matches and discarded glass after the Met Office said its fire severity index is expected to reach “high risk” today after days of dry weather.
