A MARYPORT hairdresser is a cut above the rest after being named one of the top colourists in the UK.
Justin Wilcox, 26, who owns Morgans on Senhouse Street, was the only hairdresser in Cumbria to be named in a list compiled by Elle magazine.
He said he was delighted to be recognised for his work and received a certificate for his work from the magazine.
“I have put a lot of effort into getting to where I am, working hard and learning from some of the best in the business,” he said.
“So far I am the only hairdresser in Cumbria to be given this certificate, so it’s a big thing for me.
“Now that I have this award it has given me more confidence with my work.”
Justin learnt his trade in Manchester, alongside Toni and Guy’s top stylists and he opened his own salon just over three years ago.
Morgans has also been awarded five stars by the Good Salon Guide.
Justin, of Darcy Street, Workington, said: “Myself and the staff here work hard and to be awarded five stars by the people who know about hairdressing is fantastic.”
Justin also teaches students at Lillyhall’s Lakes College West Cumbria.
