Stanwix had a very good 9-1 win at home to Subscription in the Thursday Carliol League, and are now level at the top of the table with Courtfield who won 6-4 at Brampton.

Courtfield won on three rinks but Barry Milgate’s big win secured the two aggregate points for the home side.

One noteworthy comment about the game was that the Brampton green was running really well. Okay the lines are not always easy but the green was the quickest I have encountered this season and the verticutting programme has obviously worked wonders.

Wetheral had a very good win at West End, taking nine of the points and Dalston took eight points from their trip to St James for the game against Holme Head.

Courtfield remain in top spot and have a game in hand of the four nearest pursuers who are Stanwix, Dalston, Wetheral and Subscription.

The dark horses are Brampton who are 13 points behind the leaders but do have a game in hand of Courtfield and two in hand of the four above them.

Friday Carlisle League

Brampton won by 27 shots against Dalston but Dalston had two winning rinks thus restricting the home sides win to 6-4.

Wetheral now lead the way, a point clear of Brampton and a further two points ahead of West End the last named two clubs have both played a game more. Subscription are still close up and they too have a game in hand.
