Man airlifted with serious injuries after motor event

A man was flown to hospital after suffering serious injuries at a motoring event in Brampton.

The 23-year-old was flown to Newcastle's Royal Victoria Infirmary with chest injuries at 2.20pm today.

His condition was said to be stable on arrival.

Medics said he had been at a motocross event.

He was flown by the Guardian of the North helicopter run by the Great North Air Ambulance.
