Goalkeeper Craig Rule was Dearham’s penalty shootout hero as he made the decisive save to win the President’s Cup.
Drawing 2-2 in normal time with Division Two’s Seaton Royal Oak, Premier League side Dearham scored through Jordan Branthwaite, who bagged a brace.
Kevin Little and Dan Tyer scored for the underdogs, but the pressure told when Rule beat away a Royal Oak penalty to win the title 5-4 at Workington Reds’ Borough Park stadium.
Hall Park Hotel booked their place in another of the Workington & District Sunday League’s showpieces after beating Red Lion 2-1 to reach the League Cup final.
Matt McClure and Marc Green were on target for the visitors with Kenneth Bowes firing Lion’s only goal.
Seaton Royal Oak lost a nine-goal epic as Northside cemented their place in Sunday’s League Cup final with a 5-4 win. A Brendan Wilkinson hat-trick couldn’t stop Royal Oak losing.
Workington Reds striker Stefan Scott scored twice for the home side with Andrew Mitchell, Andrew Calarco and Kyle Galea also on target.
In the Premier League, Red Lion bounced back from the disappointment of losing in the League Cup semi final to beat Grasslot 4-1. Andrew Trestianu, Darryl Vreighton, Mark Irwin and Barry cook scored for the away side with Rhys Morgan netting for the Maryport side.
Real Red House drew 2-2 with Lounge 41 in Division Two. Gaz O’Leary and Rob McDonald scored for Red House with Alan Stoddart and Dale Hooper replying for 41.
