Carlisle City 1 Harraby CC 2: Harraby gained revenge for two league defeats and made progress into round three of the Cumberland Cup.
City could have taken the lead within the first minute when Casson misjudged Lucock’s cross and the ball rebounded off the post. However, Harraby proceeded to dominate possession for much of the first half.
City struggled to create any openings and it was no surprise when Harraby extended their lead after 71 minutes when Amato’s left-wing cross was headed in at point-blank range by Shaun Bannon. Balmer and Riley could both have wrapped the game up for Harraby, but Jamie Heath caused a late scare when he beat Casson in the 87th minute. The same City player had a free-kick saved in the last minute.
Alston 2 Northbank Carlisle 2: Northbank grabbed a last-minute equaliser to take a point from this Division 2 game.
The home side were ahead in the 15th minute and continued to have most of the play during the first period. It was against the run of play when Northbank equalised in the 44th minute as Andrew Sherrard beat three Alston players before shooting past Dickinson.
Ten minutes into the second half, Alston regained the lead but just when it looked as if Northbank would leave pointless, Barwick’s shot hit the post and the rebound was slammed home by Cameron Wilson.
