Top TV chefs Ainsley Harriott and Jean-Christophe Novelli will star at this year’s Whitehaven Festival.
Ready Steady Cook host Ainsley returns to the festival for the second time after wowing the crowds back in 2009, while for Jean-Christophe, the festival has become an annual event.
Ainsley said: “I remember it being very relaxed last time and everyone was so grateful,” he said. “It’s a long haul up there but I really liked it and I really like that part of the country.”
“I would like to show people how to do three or four nice dishes.“I like to do food that people will have a go at at home.”
This year’s festival runs from June 1-3, over the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee weekend.
The chef theatre will be in a seated marquee on the end of the Sugar Tongue with plasma screens on each side of the stage.
The giant screen this year will be on the Bulwark Quay and feature a live feed from the festival over the three-day event.
Festival organiser Gerard Richardson said: “I’m absolutely delighted, he is not just a superb chef but also a proper entertainer. When he was here last time he really enthralled the crowds and was happy to have photos taken and sign autographs.”
