Paul Hollywood will be the star guest at the latest festival of Cumbrian food.
The star of BBC2’s hit show Great British Bake Off will be at the Taste of Cumbria Christmas Festival next month.
The two-day event at Muncaster Castle, Ravenglass, follows on from the huge success of the Taste Cumbria Food Festival in Cockermouth in September.
Food and drink producers from across the county will be joined by artisan crafters and makers for the event on December 3-4.
Paul Hollywood will stage live demonstrations on Saturday, December 3 showing audiences the best ways to plan and prepare their festive feasts.
Paul said: “It’s massively exciting to be part of this brand new festival and I’m pleased to have been invited.
“I’ll be letting audiences in on a few of my baking secrets as well as hosting an interactive question and answer session for all those keen amateur baker.”
The market will also include plenty of stalls offering hot food including a hog roast and a winter Pimms bar.
There will also be a range of activities, festive classes and demonstrations for children to take part in.
Experts will show them how to decorate a Christmas card, or craft a Christmas tree ornament in one of the Junior ‘Make-it’ masterclasses which also includes Christmas cake decorating and lantern making.
Santa and his reindeer will be making a visits during the two days while older family members can take part in classes such as how to cure your own festive bacon, how to make cheese in a bottle, relish and chutney making and rum butter making – or making a traditional wreath door decoration.
