I was at the conference and was live tweeting and using this liveblog along with others. It is a sad state of our times when a beautiful venue such as rheged which could attract more events from abroad won't get the opportunity because their broadband access can't support live video streaming or multiple users. Yes they do have broadband, but it is no longer fit for purpose. If beyondsl hadn't rushed in to fill the gap we couldn't have reached out to the people who couldn't attend in the way that we did. Kudos to News and Star for this liveblog and the archive. Great to look back on. Well done. It was a fantastic conference, and everyone took away plenty of thoughts. Let us crystalise these very quickly and build ourselves the Next Generation access we need for the next generation. We CanDo IT.

I have 25MB broadband in North Carlisle thanks to fibre optic from Smallworld Media. BT really needs to get its act together!
