Kaiser Chiefs announce Carlisle Sands Centre gig

The Kaiser Chiefs are the latest big name act to come to Carlisle. The indie rockers will play at The Sands Centre on Monday, February 11, with tickets going on sale on Wednesday at 9am.
Fresh from performing The Who’s classic Pinball Wizard at the Closing Ceremony of the London Olympics earlier this month, the lads are playing their hometown Leeds Festival tomorrow and Reading Festival on Sunday.
The 2006 Brit Award winners released their debut album Employment in 2005 with second album Yours Truly, Angry Mob also receiving widespread critical acclaim.
Their most recent release, Souvenir, is a ‘best of’ featuring all their hits from 2004 to 2012 including I Predict A Riot and Ruby.
There are also two new tracks on the album – Listen To Your Head and On The Run.
Lead singer Ricky Wilson has swapped the scooter he entered the Olympic Stadium on for the Closing Ceremony for a Triumph motorbike as he’s learning how to ride it in time for the Triumph Live concert in Leicestershire, which the band are headlining on Saturday September 1.
They’re named, if you didn’t know, after the South African Kaizer Chiefs Football Club, the former team of beloved long-serving former Leeds captain Lucas Radebe.
Tickets for the gig cost £25 and are available from The Sands Centre on 01228 633766 and online at www.thesandscentre.co.uk.
