Cumbrian pub family turns to TV strangers to make life-changing decision

A family who run a pub in north Cumbria are set to feature on new Channel 4 show The Audience.
The bizarre television series sees a group of strangers following people who face life-changing decisions.
After spending a full week watching their every move, the ‘audience’ then have to decide how they resolve their dilemma.
Last month a film crew spent a week at the Drove Inn at Roweltown, near Brampton.
Run by the Rawlings family for two years, it was daughter Gemma, aged 20, who put them forward for the show after reading about it on the internet.
The exact nature of the decision facing the family will not be revealed until the episode, which is still being edited, is televised.
But mum Kathy – who runs the country pub and steakhouse with husband Dave, daughters Gemma and Suzie, 22, and son Chris, 23 – said that she is pleased they took part.
“We had 50 people following us around all day. That was strange,” she said.
“But it was a brilliant experience. Very interesting to be part of. At first I think they were going to focus on the business, but in the end it became more about the family.”
