Children quizzed on health

YOUNG people are being asked to shape how healthcare for families is delivered across Cumbria.
Children’s and young people’s health services are currently being changed across Cumbria to make things easier for both children and families who need to access treatment.
NHS Cumbria plans to commission better services from one lead health provider.
Now NHS Cumbria wants to hear from young people aged between eight to 18 about what they think is important for their healthcare.
Cumbria Youth Health Panel has already begun recruiting youngsters across Cumbria and is on the look out for more to get involved.
Jayne Goodfellow, who works in public engagement for NHS Cumbria, said: “This is a great opportunity to make the NHS here in Cumbria listen to what young people really think. So often when health services are designed we either think about adults, the elderly or very young children and eight to 18-year-olds get forgotten. Whether they’ve ever been in hospital or not, whether they’ve got a long term condition such as asthma or diabetes or not if someone has something to say about the service they’ve received or would like to receive then this is their chance. Joining Cumbria Youth Panel is a real chance for 8-18 year olds to be heard and to make a difference.”
